Sharon Shannon has recently issued her first studio release since 2003. Entitled ‘Renegade’, the new album showcases her constantly expanding musical landscape and her ability to cross over in new musical genres. Joining her at the core of this project are Manchester’s own Michael McGoldrick and fiddle player Dezi Donnelly. Completing the quartet is Sharon’s longtime guitarist Jim Murray. This quartet toured Australia last year and played a great gig at St. Kents in Fallowfield a while back.

Recorded at Sharon’s own studio, the album features new original material by the quartet, and is a heady mix of traditional Irish with hip-hop beats, ragga, jazz and world music inflections. Both Jim Murray and Mike McGoldrick make their vocal debuts.
