Event: Manchester Irish Festival Tradfest Pre Launch with Dezi Donnelly, Mike McGoldrick, Steve Cooney, Dermot Byrne and Shake the Barley.
Following a sell out tour of Ireland tradfest is delighted to announce a one off gig to pre launch its two week festival in March. Tonight’s gig features four of the finest exponents of Traditional Irish music alive to-day! Donegal accordion virtuoso Dermot Byrne of the Altan fame is joined by Manchester’s own Dezi Donnelly and Mike McGoldrick of Toss the Feathers fame, plus the one and only Steve Cooney who spends much of his time these days producing, recording and performing with Sinead O'Connor. These four are masters of their individual instruments and create a wonderful sound and energy when they guide us through everything from beautifully executed O'Carolan pieces to Rip Roaring Jigs and flowing reels! It may be a long time till we are lucky enough to have these three together in the flesh again around these parts so book early as it promises to be a night not to be missed!!! Support comes from the young and lively ‘Shake the Barley’ from Young, Gifted and Green.
